I had such a fun-filled Sunday morning at the Police Family Engagement Day today! Joshua got four sets of FREE coupons which would otherwise cost him S$20 a set. The coupons allowed us access to games, snacks and lunch. How cool!
But what I love most about the coupons is that it gave us four chances at the lucky draw! I don't know what sort of prizes are up for grabs, but who cares? But since this is a police carnival, I suppose the lucky draw prizes would be:
Top Prize: One year's Get Out of Jail Free pardons
Second Prize: One year's exemption from traffic summons
Third Prize: One year's Park Everywhere You Want license
Oh oh, and I could redeem for a Kid's Goody Bag for each coupon! I like!
The Kid's Goody Bag consists of one writing pad and a box of tissue. Wahhh.. these are the very things that EVERY kid craves for! Whoever said kids wanted things like boring Transformers figurine, Playdoh or Lego? All kids really, really, really pray for at birthdays and Christmases are in fact writing pads and tissue papers!
There was also specutacular entertainment for us. There was a clown on stilts and even more clowns on stage who told jokes in Hokkien. Wah, so fun!
I could also try my hands at games to win little packets of Kaka crackers! The games are just so easy, you don't even need a brain to play. But that's perfect for us kids! In fact, the games were so easy, some kids refused to play them and let the staff running the stalls to have continuous tries.
There were also a police car, mobile command centre, Civil Defence's Red Rhino, and a couple of police motorbikes on display! I love them! Although I see them all the time on the roads, I can never get enough of them. So it was a bonus to be able to see them again in this special carnival!
To keep our mouths moving, there were food stalls selling freshly-made Ramli burgers, fried chicken wings, cold fishballs and hotdogs.
The uncle selling the burgers made them with such precision that we spent 45 minutes queueing for them. So although I don't really like Ramli burgers, I just felt so drawn to his dedication that I just have to join the long queue and buy some. You could see the love he has for his burgers through the way he carefully lays the meat patties on the pan, each placed exactly 4mm apart.
And uncle was really steady! Even with the queue line snaking all the way to the back of the building, he kept his cool and went on slowly and carefully with his cooking.
Oh boy! What a wonderful morning outing, right?! Nevermind that it was raining cats and dogs this morning and was therefore perfect for sleeping in till afternoon. I am so glad that I tore myself out of bed at 9am just to make it to this carnival.
You could see just how happy I am!
1 blistering yaks:
You know... add another $5 to your $20 coupons, you can get yourself a big nice glass of mojito at Observation Lounge in Mandarin.
