A Gist of the Trip

You would probably have noticed that I did not write about my recent trip to Bangkok and Koh Samet the way I normally would upon my return. I guess this trip felt so routine to me that I have nothing new to say.

If you need to see the photos, they are all on Facebook.

I stayed in the same hotel - the Grand Hyatt Erawan. I dined at the same restaurants. I did not get to hit the clubs, unlike the last time with Sandee, so my nights were pretty bleh.

Our traditional party for industry people had a back-to-school theme and the girls from my company dressed up for it... except me. The only thing that looked back-to-school on me was my checkered bustier. And whenever anyone said to me, "Hey, that's not a uniform!" I would answer, "Yeah of course, because I was the delinquent student who got sacked from school for having too many tattoos."

Lingerie shopping was not satisfying enough. In fact, shopping in general this time round was not satisfying. Perhaps I was just not in the mood to begin with.

The weekend sojourn at Koh Samet was relaxing. I slept through the afternoon and evening upon arrival cos I was just too exhausted from sleeping late almost every night in Bangkok.

Once again, Uncle Hans provided great company and regaled me with his stories from a bygone era and updates on his life. I love hearing Uncle Hans talk. There is something soothing about his voice, and I could be myself with him.

That's the thing that irks me. I found myself having to stay guarded whenever I'm out with hoteliers no matter how long I've known them, save for a few, like Ben, with whom I could crack the silliest and filthiest jokes.

Oh, how I adore Ben. He is such good, clean fun. I could hug him and caress his bald head as if he was my lover, and he would play along. But he would also be such a gentleman that we would never take things too far.

Anywaaaay... Hoteliers in general just make me nervy. Maybe it is because they are always in their bloody suits. If only all those big boys from hotel chains wore only boxers when they meet me! :)

So one trip down, one more to go in November (to god-awful Kunming) then I'll be done for the year.

Yay.
