Yesterday alone, I set foot in three - Toji Temple, Kennin Temple and Kiyomizu Temple. The last one was visited in the night, as it was specially illuminated most brilliantly during certain days in autumn.

And this morning, I saw Shimogamo Shrine.

All lovely. The next time I visit Kyoto on my own, I intend to take slow walks around, and get in touch with my inner self in zazen gardens.
Anyway, it was bad timing for me to visit temples now.
You see, my menses arrived yesterday. And you know how lusty I become during my monthly bleeds. All I could think of was sex, and it was not the best thing to have on one's mind while gazing up at beautiful statues of Buddha at Toji Temple or while greeting young monks.
And I tell you, some of those young Japanese monks are damn good looking! I met one at Kiyomizu Temple last night, who was a university graduate who lived in California for a few years before deciding to return home and be a monk. If he wasn't in monk robes, I could imagine him executing cool moves to hiphop beats on a dance floor.

I spied this Shinto monk this morning, looking too delicate in his pristine white robes. And the Aphrodite in me wanted to make him really dirty.
Thankfully, no more temple visits tomorrow. I'll be free to think of sinful thoughts for the rest of my stay in Japan.
