One step closer to Hokkaido

Singapore Airlines is running a promotion for its flights to various Japanese cities and other destinations around the world between April 1 and August 31.

Since Joshua and I intend to take a holiday in Hokkaido in July, I took the opportunity to secure flights to Tokyo, where we can take a domestic flight onwards to the island. Thanks to the promotion, I only had to pay S$1,319 for two return tickets, inclusive of surcharges and taxes.

That's brilliant, considering how expensive our flag carrier usually is. Airfares from Singapore to Tokyo were priced over S$1,000 per person last December, forcing us to turn to cheaper Delta. Even so, our Delta flight cost us over S$800 per person.

The husband is ecstatic and eager to begin researching the destination. We will have eight full days to explore Hokkaido and partake in many festivals held that month. I read online that Hokkaido usually celebrates a jazz fest in July and I can't wait to attend one!

But with the trip still so many months away, I will have to keep my fingers crossed that Japan won't be struck by yet another natural disaster between now and then.
